week 10
Assalamualaikum foodies.omg dah masuk week 10 dah rupanye.cepatnya masa berlalu dan kehidupan sbg seorang mahasiswa semakin hari semakin mencabar.hahaha.so during week 10 ni ,sambungan kepada presentation utk kumpulan lain yg belom buat tu.okla.so 1st group talk about cold and heat preservation .cold preservation include refrigeration technique ,cold plasma .of course at lower temperature the miccroorganism activity will be slow down and make sure dont keep fruits vegetables fish too long in refrigeratior .hahahah.cold plasma pula adalah benda baru yg i bljr masa tu.dia adalah technique utk pulihkan semula buah2 yg rosak akibat fungi or mould .so ada satu mesin ini .mesin ini mempunyai gas helium and nitrogen .when we put buah2 yg rosak tadi ke dalam mesin ni pastu kita akan dpt buah yg fresh .magic kn.hehe. bagi heat preservation pula techique nye adalah cooking boiing grilling broiling blanching .korang paham apa itu broilling .broiling ni mcm kita masak makanan dlm oven .heat on top .inches from top oven must be 2-6 inches daripada food tersebut .blanching pula okay .kita boil vegetables then cepat2 masuk kan dlm ice water .begitula citernyeeeeeee.

WEEK 8

so this is week 8 .it is very fast and omg mid term tinggal berapa minggu je lagi ni ..semoge everything gonna be alright .so dr.fareeed did not coming to class this week because already informed that he got bad injured on his legs like terseliuh heheh.i hope he will be recovered soon .hehe...!!!so he left to us scl task which is food preservations technique .this task required us to form a group and elaborate about one of the technique that required to be present on 2 november.my group choosed food irradiation.so we discuss among the members about food radiation .so you know what is it??
food irradiation is process of exposing food to ionizing radiation.we will use use xray gamma ray and electron beam radiation .to destroy the microorganisms in the foods .One of the most important advantages of food irradiation processing is that it is a cold process which does not significantly alter physico-chemical characters of the treated product,It can kill many insects and pests that infest foods like grains, herbs and spices without appearing to affect them. It can kill or substantially reduce the level of dangerous micro organisms in foods such as salmonella, listeria and campylobacter. It can delay or stop normal ripening and decay processes so that foods can be stored for longer. It can completely sterilise a food making it fit to eat for vulnerable patients in hospitals.It can only be used on a very limited range of foods. It is still a relatively expensive technology. It affects some important constituents of foods, for example, vitamin E levels can be reduced by 25% after irradiation and vitamin C by 5-10%. Although ordinary cooking will also produce vitamin losses but consumers are more aware of this effect and are likely to sompensate elsewhere intheir diet. Radiation doses at the levels recommended will not kill all micro organisms. Typically 90% may be destroyed and this means that the food still has be treated with care otherwise the remaining organisms will reproduce rapidly. It is ineffective against viruses. It can create new substances called radiolytic products. While this does not mean that the food is radioactive, there is considerable controversy over whether these products are unique and if so whether they are dangerous.

Week 7
ASSALAMUALAIKUM AND SALAM SEJAHTERA ALLS..!!!!
it is already week 7 so i have a task to do .as dr fareed said i nak kene citer kn pasal how food that i eat this week ,how they preserve the food .i mkn almost preservatives food such as sardin ,snacks and many more lah .so one of the foods that i would like to share here is this week i eat i always drink lychee jus .the lychee obtained from the lychee tin to make drink we can buy it in supermarket and they preserve through canning .
So , lychee jus is my favourite drink actually heheh. so now im gonna tell how they process to become last longer and still fresh fruit .firstly of course we obtained the lychee fruit from farm and plant and then fruit deliberate and sending to unloading bay .the undergo cleaning process which is put into special wash water tank .later the fruits will be grading according to 3 primary grade by considering the sizes.then the fruits will be peeled their coat and pith by slicing machine and resizing machine to make sure they are really clean .after that the lychee will undergo lychee filling and syrup process,the fruits will put onto the cans and filled with concentrated syrup solutions .
after that the tin filled with lychee will admitted into exhausting box to create a vacuum state.the cans need to move to seaming machine and close for air tight .covered cans are then sterilized and they undergo cooling and drying ,by inserting into refrigeration machine and dried by blower.and finally they need to be storage for two weeks to ensure products stability and free from contamination from microorganisms during processing and operation .andnow we can buy it from the retailer and enjoy the freshness of preservatives fruis without need to peel or reoval of skin just open the cans cover and pour it onto your jar .huhuhuhu.nyumyyyy...

DURING WEEK 6.we learned pasal introduction to nutrition .so what is nutrition?nutrition is nourishing substances in food that provide energy and promotes growth and maintainance in the body.it will relates to health and diseases.cancer is number one disease in malaysia.this is due less health awareness among the people .U.S epidemic have overweight and obesity .kemudian sy pelajari pasal kenapa kita pilih makanan tersebut .faktor2 yang dinyatakan adalah flavor, taste,smell,sight and sound ,demographics ,culture and religion and etc.as i know .we have 10,000 taste buds .its very useful to eat and taste the foods we eating.umami provides sensation taste and sensitive to glutamate .smell is important to taste ,our nose can distinguish among about 10,000 scents.eyes will detect the testures and arrangement of food and sound such as sizzle of fajitas will stimulate appetite along with sight.
selain itu faktor demograpics ,menjadi faktor dalam pemilihan makanan.then i learn about kcl.you now what is that ??it's kilocalories .the measure of energy in the foods.number of calories needed is based on 3 factor that are basal metabolism ,physical activity andenergy used to digest and absorb food .nutrients including carbohydrates,fats ,protein,vitamins,mineralsand water.carbohydrates is macronutrients that is large and it can be stored in muscle and liver for energy used.protein function in tissues repairing and salmon have high protein.fats isimportant too it can provide cushion for vital organ.vitamins and minerals are non-caloric nutrients.it allow growth and reproduction.our body contain 60% water and 20% to 25% fat. and lastly we need to follow the food guide pyramid to AIM FOR FITNESS AND BUILD A HEALTHY BASE.remember PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE.

WEEK 5

so in week 5 .actually it was a splendid week for me coz during that week i memang sangat sibuk dengan pelbagai aktiviti .HUHUHU!!!!
okla so during week 5 lessons dr,fareed teach us and he briefing tentang food demands and supply.so demand and supply ada relationships iaitu terbahagi kpda 2.demand exceed supply and supply exceed demand.apabila demand exceed supply means xcukup makanan ,harga maknan tinggi dan import barangan diperlukan.then proceed to supply exceed demand ,means quantity makanan berlebihan ,harga makanan murah dan export barangan dijalankan.
ape itu food security????food security is when all people at all times have access to sufficient ,safe ,nutritious food to maintain a healthy and active life.during week 5 .dr.fareed memberi tugasan berkumpulan di mana setiap group mesti memberi pendapat tentang tajuk yang diberi.group saya pasal future food cannot be met by current levels production .so point2 yang kami nyatakan antaranya its depend on population size penduduk dunia ketika itu dan tahap teknologi yang ada pada masa itu.pada masa akan datang penduduk semkin ramai dan skala pengeluaran perlu ditingkatkan dengan mnggunakan teknologi yang lebih advance berbanding teknlogi semasa supaya makanan mencukupi dan crisis makanan dapat dielakkan.
dalam kelas sy dpt info di mana negeri sembilan dahulunye menanam sawah padi di daerah rembau .air yang disalurkan ke tanaman padi datangnya dari gunung .akibatnya penduduk di sekitar kampung tidak dapat menggunkan air utk kegunaan domestic kerana air digunakan untuk sawah padi.ini salah satu issue politic .then biodiesel.means minyak dari kelapa sawit .alternatif untuk penanaman ,tanah terbiar digunakan utk tanam so more go green dan mesra alam.....

So during week 4 ,on tuesday kita xder kelas coz dr.fareed has cancelled the class due to bad haze happened ...so class akan diganti on week 5 .ohhh syoknyeeee hhahhahaahh!firstly i nak ucapkan happpy international coffee day okeyyy

then on thursday .we have pop quiz about what you understand about food industries .we were asked to write short essay,so we had be given 20 minutes and also we brief about it by referring to the picture in our fb .gmbr tu ada gmbr meow and sebenarnye i kene tgok and menghayati products food yang dijual kat dalam grocery tu..so it quite interesting and i hope yang i got 8-10 marks aminnnn.hheheheh!!!!
as i know food industry mcm industri pemprosesan makanan starting daripada agriculture until finished product or bahan2 utk masakan .then pastu marketing.so syarikat2 yang terkenal seperti nestle maggi munchy and lain2 ni lah yang bnyk menyumbang kepada pengguna utk makan makanan yang selamat dan halal toyyiba.food industry memang bnyk menyediakan peluang kerja utk rakyat di negara ini oleh kerana dunia semakin ramai org so kita bnyk memerlukan pekerja utk menghasilkan makanan utk kegunaan semua orang .

WEEK 3
Assalamualaikum guys.first of all i nak ucapkn selamat hari raya aidiladha.
ohhhh .i really enjoy cuti 4 days katt rumah.banyak jugak keje nak kene settle before masuk belajar balik.however i miss upm at the sametime too.hihhihiihih,,,,,!!!!!!
SO during week 3 theres no class on thursday coz cuti so on monday actually i banyak habiskan masa dgn cuti .amali and assignment .huh penat jugak .hhahahhhaha.ermmm...actually week 3 ni krik2 jew....hahhahhaha...no la!!!ACTUALLY kitaorang berdebat .our topic is makan untuk hidup or hidup untuk makan .hahahah...so i dalam kumpulan hidup utuk makan .!!!
so mmng xdpt dinafikan kita mmng makan utk menjalani kehidupan hhhaha however i and my group brainstorm our mind hardly to find the points that we will used to debate with other group tu yang makan utk hidup.hahahahah!!!!so my bestie ni nama asyrul he as my group member who had debate on last monday..huhhhh..seriously memang power gila cara dia berdebat kagum sesangat2!!so dia sokong makan utk hidup kerana selagi kita hidup kita perlu merasai segala jenis makanan di dunia ini kerana inilah saatnya.hehhhhhe!!!tapi xobesity kenanti?

Week 2
Asalamualaikum dan selamat sejahtera to all !:)
Update update and update . Nak share sikit pasal what happened in week 2 . During week 2 we learned about top 10 food predictions for 2015. Antaranya seperti lobster, pudding restaurant , poutine , Lithuanian food dan sebagainye .makanan ini kebanyakkannya adalah western food .Dr. faredd tidak masuk kelas pada hari khamis lepas .dia ada upload videos dekat fb .dalam video itu setakat apa yang sy tahu biskut oat keluaran muncy adalah lebih sihat jika dimakan sebagai alas perut berbanding biskut yang berminyak. Selain itu santan segera juga pada masa kini adalah berkualiti selain cepat untuk dijadikan ramuan dalam masakn. Banyak lagi yang saya dengar dalam video itu. Ianya sungguh menyeronokkan heheheh ;)).jumpe lagi alls

Week 1
Asalamualaikum and good day;)
I have just finished create a blog as my lecturer was told to do so. From here I'm gonna share something related about the food industry and also this is the tool that i used to complete my assignment .My lecturer's name is Dr. Fareed Ismail.
Since week 1 , we did ice breaking which is during this session we need to know who are our classmates's names , nickname , age and the special things about him/her. We're so happening and this is the good things to do for the first class.
At the same time , our lecturer had introduced himself and he's so joyful person .lol😂
For week 2 which is next week , our lecturer will briefing clearly about the food industry and I'm so excited to learn about their syllabus as this is gonna be something new and I had to explore it .That's all guys 😉😊
